Mix & Match Ice Cream Magnets

I had entirely too much fun creating different types of ice cream and cones for this mix and match set. I only really needed one of each piece as examples, but there are just so many flavors out there! Plus this is also my first set of 3D magnets so I did want to go all out.

The set consists of:

• single hard scoop
• single hard scoop with syrup/sauce
• triple hard scoop (or you can just use the top two pieces for a double scoop)
• soft serve
• cake cone
• waffle cone
• chocolate dipped waffle cone with sprinkles
• chocolate dipped waffle cone with no sprinkles (not shown, because I just thought to add that to the file while typing this up)

The 3MF file has pre-painted pieces and also includes a painted swirl soft serve to make a total of 11 pieces. The syrup on the single scoop and the chocolate and sprinkles on the waffles cone are separate, but merged parts so you can easily change the colors in the objects tab. If you wanted to do multiple colors for the sprinkles you will have to paint them individually. I actually hand painted the rainbow sprinkles shown in the photos, so I wouldn't be wasting too much filament. I also recommend doing different colored items on different plates so you don't bring a whole other color into the mix. The STL bundle has 10 pieces, and some of them might need to be hand painted to really get the details to pop.

All the pieces shown were printed at a .12 layer height with a .4 nozzle. When printing multicolor this will create a lot of waste, but get you better looking results. If you'd like to do this as well, I recommend using flush objects to reduce you waste and still have some usable items. Higher layer heights will make the magnets look less refined, but save on time and waste. You can also try adaptive layer height, but the different pieces will have different results and will needed to be printed separately from each other.

The magnet slots shouldn't need supports, but I did notice that on the twist soft serve, switching between colors messed up the bridging . So adding support is completely up to you, but they can be a pain to remove from those little spaces. I use a 6x3mm round magnet which ends up being flush with the back. If you get a 6x4mm the magnet will stick out a bit and will be easier to pick remove from your fridge or other surface. I use E6000 glue for the magnets and so far it's held up really well with all of my designs.
