Shimano I Spec EV Double Bolt Bar Clamp Adapter
Print Profile(1)

Description
Do you have Shimano x100 series MTB brakes and drivetrain/groupset controls using the I Spec EV attachment interface? Did you convert to another brand brakes and now have no way to attach your I Spec EV shifter or dropper level? If so, then this bar clamp can help get your cockpit controls squared away without expensive aftermarket bar clamp adapters.
This bar clamp features a double width clamp with twin clamp bolts and twin I Spec EV fixing bolts for secure, safe and reliable mounting of your dropper, shifters or both. Beware of single width bar clamps as the leverage the controls impose upon them will not last even a few uses. By doubling up the mounting interface width and fixing hardware, the leverage and stress on the clamp is greatly minimized and the I Spec EV interface is much more secure.
The Shimano I Spec EV mounting interface calls out an overall adjustment width of 14mm, combined with the 7mm wide mounting boss yields a 23mm overall width on the shifter and dropper level controls. This bar clamp uses a 20mm wide I Spec EV mounting boss which allows for sufficient strength while also giving some side to side clearance for the control to mount on the clamp.

There are 2 versions of this clamp provided:
- M5 threaded holes for I Spec EV mounting boss fixing bolts.
- Smooth hole with a 4mm ID to accommodate a M3 heat insert for even greater pullout strength.
I recommend version 2 for optimal strength if you have heat inserts on hand. If using version 1, i suggest chasing the M5 threads with a tap to clean them up before using.
Installation notes:
Go easy when tightening the fasteners. Make the clamping bolts just snug otherwise you can split the plastic--no ugga-dugga's here! If using the M5 threaded version, also go lightly tightening down or else you will pull out the threads. With just lightly snugged up, the clamp is quire secure both on the bar and on the control mount.
Printing notes:
Increase your wall, top and bottom loops to 5 and make your infill %100. You want max material and strength here. This is included in my print profiles but if you are just pulling the STLs, make sure you do this.
Print on side as seen in the profile to optimize strength along layers.
You need a little support for the mounting boss cantilever.
Hardware required:
For all versions:
2 - M4 hex bolts and nuts for bar clamp. Stainless preferred.
For Version 1 only:
2 - M5 hex bolts for fixing bolts with washers
For Version 2 only:
2 - M3 heat set inserts
2 - M3 hex bolts for fixing bolts with washers. M3 is a bit skinny for this so you may need some wider M3 washers or add in some M4 washers to increase the clamping width on the controls.
