Hello again!!

With the current season and the approaching heat, the nuisance of flies returns. To combat them, I have designed this fly swatter that I am sharing with you. Various models are available online, but those I saw did not quite meet my expectations, so I designed my own based on a couple of premises: that it be entirely printable, requiring no glue or other additional parts for assembly (I have added a couple of optional screws if anyone wants to make the model more robust, but they are not necessary for perfect functioning) and that it be sturdy.

The model is printed in 3 parts:

  • the membrane/grid which should be printed in TPU or any other flexible material
  • the 2 parts of the handle which I printed in PETG for impact resistance. Although you can print them with whatever material you are most comfortable with

Assembly is very simple; you just need to slide one half of the handle over the other, insert the membrane/grid into its position and secure both halves of the handle by pressure.

The following images show the assembly.

Slide one handle over the other through the slot.
It should look like this
Insert the membrane or grid into its position
Close by pressing the connectors
OPTIONAL. You can add a pair of M2 x 6 mm screws into the slots designed for them (remove the supports only if you are going to use them). Both the screw head and the nut are completely flush with the handle.

And that's all, friends! You now have your weapon to fight these annoying insects.

I hope you like it and find it useful.

PS: If you print it, I encourage you to comment on your impressions of the model, upload photos of the result and help me with a boost to continue creating more models.
