Lenovo Legion Go Backplate with Fan Hatch & Second SSD Mod
This is a custom 3D-printed backplate for the Lenovo Legion Go with these features:
✅ Fan maintenance hatch:
Easily access and clean the fan without removing the entire case.
✅ Second SSD mod:
The original NVMe SSD stays in place. Using an ultra-thin USB-C cable and a PCB from a Beikell external SSD enclosure, you can run a second NVMe SSD (up to 2280) inside the backplate.
👉 The lower USB-C port of the Legion Go is used. The upper port remains free, e.g. for charging or other accessories.

🛠 Required parts:
🔗 Brass Threaded Inserts (M2, Ø 3.2 mm, length 2.5 mm)
🔗 Magnets 6×3 mm
🔗 Ultra-thin USB-C cable
🔗 Beikell external SSD enclosure
🔗 Short M2 screws
🔗 Original hinges (from Lenovo Legion Go)
🖨 Recommended print settings:
- Material: PETG-GF (e.g., Tinmory PETG-GF) or Bambu PETG-CF
- Infill: 35%
- Fuzzy skin: enabled (for better grip and look)
- Supports: already well configured in the model – do not change
⚠️ Notes:
- Hardware modification experience is recommended.
- Ensure proper connection of the second SSD to the lower USB-C port of the Legion Go.
- This solution provides storage via USB-C, not PCIe (check speed limitations).
