Description

The track diagram on our model railroad was outdated and no longer attractive. The old track diagram was designed for analog operation and many switches.

In the course of digitalization and this project, the old circuit diagram was completely replaced.

Here came the idea of building a track circuit diagram with simple 3D printed parts.

The track pattern is very thin and flexible. It can be printed quickly and smoothly and can also be used outdoors if the PLA is replaced by ASA.
The components of the track pattern have a narrow offset edge. This is for printing the components in 2 colors. In our example, we have marked routes that are not in sight or have a different direction of travel.

It has proven to be practical to print out all possible components on paper and thus calculate the exact number of parts required.

In the attachment you will also find the Fusion360 files with which you can make modifications to the components. If you find a good improvement or have further ideas, I would be very happy to receive your input and ideas. We are constantly optimizing our track with the 3D printer.
