Bird Waterer for Bird Buddy (24-415 Bottle)

Tired of water splashing out of your bird feeder's dish every time the wind blows or a bird lands? This gravity-fed waterer is designed to solve that exact problem. It features a special anti-splash rim to keep water in the bowl and provides a consistent, fresh water source for your feathered friends. It attaches directly to the Bird Buddy accessory point with a built-in M5 screw.

I have uploaded two different versions.  One attaches directly to the Bird Buddy via the built in thread.  The other has an extension arm that moves the water dish a little further away and attaches via an M5 screw.   I have also uploaded the two Fusion 360 files if you want to edit it yourself.  You will need to download the base (regular or extension) and the “Threaded Cylinder”.  You can edit the “Threaded Cylinder” file yourself so it can fit the bottle you have.  I am a beginner at Fusion 360, so it may be a little messy, but it works.

This bird waterer was designed from the ground up to be a more effective and reliable water source for the Bird Buddy feeder.

Key Features:

• Anti-Splash Design: The primary feature is the inward-curving lip on the bowl. This rim expertly catches water as it sloshes from the feeder's movement and directs it back into the basin, preventing spills and saving water.
• Standard Bottle Compatibility: The threads are designed for a common 24-415 bottle neck size. These are widely available and are often used for travel size bottles.
• Perfect Bird Buddy Integration: The model attaches securely and seamlessly to your Bird Buddy feeder using the built-in M5 screw that is printed as part of the model. No extra hardware is needed!
• Easy to Use: Simply print the model, find a compatible bottle, fill it with water, and screw the waterer on. Invert it, and the gravity-fed system will keep the basin full.

Print Settings

• Material: PETG or ASA is highly recommended for durability and resistance to UV rays and outdoor temperatures. PLA is not recommended for long-term outdoor use as it can warp and degrade.
• Layer Height: 0.2mm for a good balance of strength and print time.
• Watertightness: To ensure the bowl is perfectly watertight, use at least 3-4 walls/perimeters.
• Infill: 15-20% is sufficient.

Assembly & Installation

1. Print the model in an outdoor-safe material like PETG.
2. Find a clean, empty bottle with a 24-415 neck size.
3. Screw the printed waterer onto the accessory port of your Bird Buddy feeder using the integrated M5 screw.
4. Fill your bottle with fresh water.
5. Tightly screw the printed waterer base onto the bottle.

6. Quickly flip the entire assembly over and place the bottle into the holder. The dish will fill to the perfect level.
