Description

Attention:
Make sure to follow your local laws and regulations with all items that you mount/install in your home.
In some part of the world, this item may not be legal to use!
Do not replace your regular smoke detectors with this one, or place it where a smoke detector is normally located or required.

Description:

This is a look-a-like of a smoke detector, but is a secret safe place to keep your valuable belongings from easily being found when you’re not home.
The housing is bayonet mounted to the base plate, quick and easy to use.

An example picture is provided what can fit inside of it, but there were still room for more items.

To mount the housing to the base plate, align the cutout markings on the rims,
push up, and then twist either clockwise or counterclockwise depending on which direction you want the item to face.

Try to print it in as opaque white PLA filament as possible. (Light should not shine through the filament)
Some white filaments are not opaque enough makes its appearance look a little less “real”.
In this example, the best filament I used was “Polymaker PolyLite PLA Cold White” as shown to the left in this picture.

As visual quality is most important for this item to look like as close to an injection molded part as possible,
the print speed is set accordingly (rather slow). You can try changing the print speed but do it at your own risk.

Boost Me (for free)

A lot of filament was used when prototyping this item, if you enjoy it, please consider sending a boost as it really helps cover some of the development costs.

This item was inspired by the item posted below, but I wanted would be big enough to hold credit card sized cards and more things, as well as looking like a regular smoke detector that is common in the part of the world I live. Go have a look if this could be a better secret safe for your part of the world:
