Hose Nozzle Articulating Arm Leitner ACS HydroPOD
Print Profile(2)

Description
Do you have a Leitner ACS Truck Rack and HydroPOD and wish there was a hands-free way to hold or suspend the hose nozzle while you wash up? Then this articulating arm may be just what you need!
This model features an articulating arm remixed from Ideal Creations where I've adapted the base mount to align and attach to the Leitner ACS rack upper or lower mounting rails. The articulating arm features 2 main movable segments and pivoting joints between all connections for full range of motion. With that versatility, it allows you to position the hose nozzle in any orientation up, down, level and any height from low down to wash hands or up high as a full shower and anywhere in between. When done, the arm can be fully collapsed for low profile storage within your rack. On the other end, I've adapted the hose holder from practical3D which is a perfect fit for the Leitner HydroPOD hose to securely hold and suspend the nozzle in a hands-free manner. You will need some hardware for the pivot joints to complete the model
Hardware required:
Qty 3: ¼"-20 tpi, 2" length hex bolts (for main pivots)
Qty 2: ¼"-20 tpi, 1 3/4" length hex bolts (for arm binders)
Qty 5: ¼"-20 tpi nylon nock nuts (for pivots and arm)
Qty 2: Leitner ACS Tracklok bolts and nuts (for rack mount).
Notes about the model:
- The model is designed to have 2 articulating arm segments. Please print 2 copies of the arm build plates. You can use just 1 arm segment but you wont get full range of motion. You can also print 3 segments if you want even more reach but you may really need to crank down on the knobs to secure it.
- The arms have been remixed in a way to deconstruct them in a way to make printing vastly easier. The original authors 1-piece design required a lot of difficult, if not impossible, to remove supports whereas this remix uses a deconstructed, multi-piece design that very easily re-assembles with 1 simple fastener to affix them together.
- There are 2 rack mount options to choose from: Upper rail mount and Lower rail mount. Pick the one you prefer. The upper mount offers the most versatility but access could be an issue if your the upper rail is difficult for you to reach for the pivot knob.
- When assembling the knobs, drop your lock nut in the hex hole, then pound the retention plug in with a soft blow hammer--its designed to be a tight fit so you don't lose the nut.
- Print with PETG for better outdoor heat and UV resistance. Overall, there is not much support needed for these models except for a few small areas such as the knobs. Use support for PETG or PLA as support interface to facilitate easier support removal.
- For strength, i'm using 5 wall loops, 5 base layers and 5 top layers. Infill is triangle and 15%.
- Use stainless hardware if possible.
- Though this is designed for SAE ¼-20 hardware, you can substitute M6x1 as is pretty close in dimension.
