Irrigation Dripper Nozzle for 6mm flexible Tube (v2)
This is an alternative version of my first dripper nozzle design for an automatic watering solution that works with low pressure, i.e. use a water tank or a large bottle. The hose can be bought in hardware stores as fish tank hose or on amazon. Make sure to get a hose with inner diameter of 4mm (the outer diameter is irrelevant for this nozzle).
The dripper's water flow can be adjusted with the screw to conserve water and drip really slowly (i.e. once every several seconds). If it drips too fast for you put a little bit of cloth inside (a patch of 5x5 mm). In my tests a 2L water bottle lasted several days with a single dripper while keeping the ground moist all the time.
Note: This is a remix. I used the adjustment mechanism of the Automatic Bottle Watering System because people wrote that it would work well. However, I determined in my tests that it is not better than my own end cap dripper nozzle. Both drip too much at the beginning and require a piece of cloth to stop the flow so they drip only every couple of seconds, but once the plastic saturates with water their flow rate decreases quite a lot after about a day and you'll need to re-adjust. I am still trying to find a truly reliable adjustment mechanism that does not require frequent re-adjustment.
This is a single part of my custom designed irrigation system which I will publish piece by piece as I make it. I'll update this post once published, in case you are interested.
