Description

Gnomaste - The Garden Gnome. I took on a project for a friend who wanted a custom Garden Gnome striking a Yoga pose, and this is what I came up with. I have printed this model several times now, with varying materials and nozzle sizes, though the .4mm nozzle at it's full dimension yielded the best results without having to really dig into calibration.

I also took this opportunity to try out Polymaker's new HT-PLA to test the durability of the material in direct sunlight. I printed a minature version of the model and left it on the dashbaord of my vehicle in direct sunlight for 3 days. Cabin temperatures reached a maximum of 128°F (53.33°C) and there has yet to be any visible degradation of the model, though I underdrtand this is still lower than the softening temp of regular PLA!

To note: I have also printed this model at a 45° angle in order to get a cleaner look on the front, though you have to utizlize support enforcers around the base to make sure it stays in place!
