YipYip Family: Ridiculous Red Edition
Print Profile(2)

Description
Meet the YipYip Family—a delightful collection of expressive, flexible alien creatures who’ve yipped their way through the cosmos to land on your print bed. Each YipYip is posted as separate model entry in the collection due to file size limits. They bear a bit of a resemblance to those creatures I saw as a kid on Sesame St. so long ago :).
Boost Me (for free)
My hard work is free to enjoy, but boosts are appreciated and make me smile.
These bouncy, bendy beings are full of personality, best printed in multi-color thanks with an AMS or similar system. They are designed for joyful desk companionship, shelf life, or curious little hands (with supervision!).
Each YipYip features:
Fully articulated tentacle chains for that lovable floppy wiggle.
Push-in, separately printed antennae for enhanced durability.
A spare replacement tentacle chain 3MF included, in case of cosmic calamities or enthusiastic play mishaps.
Every YipYip has its own look, pose, personality, and interstellar backstory—because no two YipYips are ever quite alike!
Ridiculous Red Edition
Name: Ridiculous Red
Color: Red (Bambu Matte Plum)
Pose: Mouth wide open
Print Notes: No supports.
Backstory:
Ridiculous Red is what happens when too much caffeine meets too much curiosity. Smaller than Bellowing Blue but no less chaotic, this little blur of bouncing excitement is known for flinging tentacles at surprising moments and reacting to nothing with total drama. If you’ve ever gasped out loud just because someone said “guess what”—you’ll get along great with Ridiculous Red.
Printing Info
- Everything here printed in PLA, although PETG could work with some tuning.
- AMS-compatible .3MF file for BambuSlicer (tested on Bambu AMS). Generic 3MF also included. Chain portions printed at 0.2 mm height, rest at 0.16 mm height.
- Antennae are printed separately and insert into the keyed holes behind the eyeballs. This is to make sure they don't snap off (as they would too easily if printed vertically).
- Note that a “test set” are included with the main creature to check size/tolerance and a real multi-color set on a separate plate. The antennae will fit tightly, but you may wish to glue them in place.
- The test and real set already have some tolerance built in, but depending on your printer and filament the fight might be too tight! If the test set doesn't fit, please slightly scale down the multi-color ones (99-98%) to get a good fit. Alternatively a hobby knife or sand paper can make a too-tight fit work just fine.
- Bonus replacement-tentacle chain 3MF for quick repairs or spares printing.
- Make sure you've tuned your pressure advance/flow rates as good print tolerances are important so that the chains work well.
- Make sure your bed adhesion is good. The little chain parts are small and need a good solid bond to work. SuperTack style plates work well, and/or don't be afraid to use a glue layer if you have any trouble.
