Description

This is a remix of the Watchmaker Screwdriver Rotating Stand by cariocadogema on thingiverse.

 

I made the following modifications:

  1. Remodeled the base and the top to accept a standard skateboard bearing.
  2. Removed the Company logo that was previously on the model.
  3. Added screwdriver sizes to each of the holes.
  4. Resized some of the holes.

The print in the photos above was made with PETG CF in black with PETG HF in white for the letters.

 

Note that the hole for the bearing is exactly the same size as the bearing (22mm).  Maybe it was the PETG CF filament I used, but the bearing fit was very tight.  I needed to use a clamp/vise with a socket to press the bearing in to the top.  However, it does spin silky smooth and you can pick it up without the base falling out of / separating from the top.  Your print tolerances may vary and your bearing may be easier to install.

 

The bearing is a 22mm outside diameter, 8mm inside diameter, 7mm tall.  Standard skateboard bearing.

perfect model, adapted to my needs, I modified the plate with the measurements and printed it separately with a 0.2 nozzle so that the numbers would be more precise and then glued it onto the model, also underneath I put non-slip material which makes everything more comfortable, I also printed containers with various colors for the spare tips, I'd say perfect, thank you very much

This looks great, are you able to provide the adaptations you made? I'm interested in the numbers, and non-slip if you printed that (although maybe just gluing on a non-slip rubber would be best

Fenomenal model! Only improvements I would like to see is different markings of screwdriver sizes and a tighter fit of the bottom piece with the bearing so you can more easely pick up the assembly. Easy solutions for the time being for me was to remove contrasting colours of the size markings that don't match up with my set and I used some tape to tighten the bearing onto the axle of the lower piece.

Good screwdrivers come with small tubes containing spare bits for each screwdriver The tubes also have a color marking so you know where the screwdriver should be returned afterwards (and of course where the correct bit is inside)

Very nice! Just starting my watchmaking hobby, and this sure beats spending $300 on the "B" screwdriver carousel.
