Description
An Enhanced Tape Feeder for Pick-and-Place Applications
Unlike comparable feeders, this innovative design employs a unique mounting system ensuring consistent pickup height across varying tape thicknesses, thereby streamlining component height adjustments within OpenPnP software. By aligning the tape's initial perforation with the feeder's frontal protrusion, precise tape positioning becomes largely unnecessary; the visual pipeline readily compensates for minor misalignments.
The base utilizes a Φ4x2mm magnet; the feeder accommodates either an identically sized magnet or a galvanized iron alternative.
- During 0603 and smaller component placement, incorporating galvanized iron into the feeder effectively mitigates component lifting.
- When handling larger components, a magnetic feeder secures a firm attachment to the base, minimizing dislodgement.
