Do you have IKEA STRIMSÄV LED lights and they glare in your eyes? Do the lights in your BLÅLIDEN cabinets blind your eyes if you sit down near them? Then this light shade will help!

I designed this simple light shade to help block direct line of sight with the LED diffuser itself, without blocking light from lighting up your displayed objects! I got very tired of the light blasting my eyes in the evening while I was laying bed, and this works to remove that source of eyestrain!

It's a very simple design, three walls thick, no infill needed, and prints very well in PLA. There is only a little bit of support needed for the rear cutout where the cable passes through. It will work with any slim, surface mount LED light that is 60mm in diameter or smaller.

Recommended Settings

0.4mm nozzle, no infill needed, normal(auto) supports are all that's needed. Use some sturdy 3M double sided tape like VHB to attach the shade around the LED, making sure that it doesn't interfere with the function of turning the LED on and off.

Jade White PLA will allow a lot of light to bleed through, whereas I used Light Gray PLA which works very well. Other colors will allow more or less light through the shade, so feel free to experiment!
