Bill of Materials
Description

UPDATE 6/12/2025: I've added an alternative head that is all yellow with red eyes.
It's been a while since I've made a Docobot, and it feels like a good time to start releasing more. I do have a profile for ‘A Toaster Named Crumbs’, but I'm just not happy with the result. Something about it needs to change and I'm not sure what. In the meantime, I have new bots, ready to go and on the way, starting with Assassanana!
Just your average, everyday robot banana assassin.
Assassanana is the first in a six bot series that I'm calling Produce Wars, and I'll be releasing one a week until the series is complete. I have created a Produce Wars collection that you can find here

Possibly my favourite part of designing Docobots is figuring out the weapon/accessory storage. With the toaster, I made his guns combine to form the heating element when in toaster form. With Ham & Cheese, the slice of ham and cheese transformed into a 3D printer. Assassanana provided me another opportunity to get creative with the weapon storage and I think that I've nailed it. When Assassanana's two swords are combined together, the hilt from both swords forms the stem of the banana as the blades are sheathed between the two arms.
NOTES
-The 3x1mm magnets are completely optional, but I would suggest putting the ones in the sword hilts. I like it because it provides a little snap as they're sheathed when transforming into banana mode.
-I have heard from a couple users that printing the ‘bones’ (shoulder, wrist and leg) with fuzzy skin improves joint friction.
-I slipped a sneak peek at next weeks Docobot into the photos.
-This write up is a work in progress. It will likely be updated with more info as I'm sure that I'm forgetting something.

ASSEMBLY

Assembly is very easy and straightforward. The head is actually two parts, and when connected to the neck, it allows the head to rotate. Make sure that the piece inside the head is able to turn freely, and then insert the neck piece. Be sure that the long, sloping part of the neck is facing forward as seen in the following picture. Although it's not actually necessary, a bit of glue to secure the neck to the head wouldn't be a bad idea.

Next, snap the head/neck into place on the torso.
Now grab the right hand, right arm, a wrist and a shoulder and connect them as seen below. Repeat the steps for the left arm.

Now connect the legs to the waist using the leg bones and then connect the waist to the torso.

When connecting the door to the torso, snap it into place from above. You should see the notches in the torso.

If you're having trouble with assembly of the chest door, try positioning the door in your thumb like in the following pictures. With the body on a flat surface, press straight down on the end of your thumb and it should pop in without breaking anything.

TRANSFORMATION GUIDE:
Transformation is really easy. Start by taking the swords out of Assassanana's hands and folding the hands into the arms. Then open the chest door and fold the head into the chest, rotating it so that the face is still visible while in the chest.

Next, fold the arms up, and then rotate each leg 180° at the knee. Fold the legs together and then rotate them 180°.

The last thing you have to do is put the swords together to form the stem and slide them into the end of the banana.
