Description

RECEIPT BOX

BACKGROUND

With the increase of EFTPOS machines being used after COVID. The vendors receipts became a problem for community groups doing fun raising activities.

The traditional spike on a stand is a problem for young helpers, so an alternative is needed.

SOLUTION

A box with a lid that could hold the receipts from the EFTPOS machine, as the little receipts don’t easily just stay in a box or go into a box. A method to easily put them in with the box retaining the receipts had to be design. Also keep in mind this would need to be used by people of all ages so it needed to be easy to use.

The solution that we have settled on and tested is a box with the lid is slotted and a plunger to push the receipt into the box.

A bit of experimentation with size and length of plunger was conducted to determine the ratio of box depth to plunger length.

The LID has two retaining protrusions one on each side that lock into the box sides. Also, the LID is slightly larger than the BOX to provide some assistance when removing the lid. A clearance has been provided between the protrusion and the recess so the lid is held on just enough to stop it falling off but not making it impossible to remove.

LABELING & IDENTIFICATION

The receipt boxes have three different lids, labelled as “RECEIPTS”, “CANTEEN” and “TICKETS”. This was done so the community group could split the receipts between canteen and ticket sales.

The receipts label was for general use where all the receipts ended up in the one box.

MATERIALS

The material that could be used is PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA or any of the carbon fiber filled filaments. We don’t recommend TPU.

If water resistance is a consideration, then PLA should not be used.

You can also use the combination of label on the lid and colour of the box to separate out the intended use.
