Description

Boost Me (for free)

If you enjoy my designs, you can support my work with a boost!

Update: I added adapters for taller tea lights, which support lights that are up to 37mm tall!

This box-shaped mini lantern offers a clean, classic design perfect for cozy lighting accents.

It fits electric tea lights with a diameter of up to 40mm and heights between 17-27mm. There is a meshed and a solid shade option. Combine the solid shade with Translucent PLA for an amazing frosted glass effect. Switch and battery stay accessible after assembly.

Cooling needs to be handled with care on this model – I recommend using my profiles, including the filament profiles I added. I tested them with Bambu Lab Basic and Matte PLA. In general: The body needs to be printed with high cooling to make sure the thin bars print perfectly. For the solid shades you should reduce cooling to a minimum to reduce deformation. Some filaments (glossy ones, like Silver and Bronze) can be harder to print on A1 and H2D. I found them to work best on the X1/P1. If the overhangs curl up, try reducing the total print speed.

Assembly is very easy, no additional parts of screws are needed. All parts snap into each other. First add your tea light and secure it with the threaded holder. Then snap the little lid on the upper body part. You should be able to freely rotate it. Finally, put the shade in and snap the body parts together.

Lovely print! Printed the shade in vase mode and works great. Base and insert didn’t print well but didn’t use supports so may try again with supports and see how it turns out

What didn't work? If you had adhesion issues, you might need to wash your build plate.

Adhesion was fine, but maybe some bridging issues? Should it print okay without supports? If so I’ll definitely try again and look at some settings. I want to perfect it as I’m interested in buying your commercial license

Yes, this was designed to print without supports. It's important to keep the right orientation and 0.16mm layer height.

Thank you... I tested it right after publishing and it worked perfectly, looks like Bambus new update broke it, I'm also getting the error now... I will try to reupload the profiles.

I hope all bugs are fixed now... There seem to be a few more bugs in the newest Bambu Studio version, and since I did so many different settings in this profile, I have no idea which caused the issue... :/

Printed and snapped together beautifully! Printed with Atomic "Cosmic Graphite" PLA and Atomic "Clear" PETG. The color comes from a color changing LED tea light.

Wonderful clean print. I scaled it up and added a negative object to modify to fit the round puck lights so I don’t have to worry about charging a tea light. I also used translucent PETG which warped a little (totally my fault) but I think it adds character!

Great model and finally a print that didn't overpromise! Easy to print, the overhangs were no problem for my A1. Too bad I don't have a Boost anymore. Printed in Bambu PLA Galaxy Green and Bambu PLA Basic jade white.
