Description

Build Plate Guide For your X1 & P1 Series Printers.

I have created my own version of a build plate guide,
It's been in use for over a month & is working fantastic.

1. Print in your chosen material, best in PETG
2. Remove supports

3. Clip onto the left back corner of the build plate ( should be a completely flush finish )

4. enjoy easy plate alignment

Printed in PLA. It was hard to put on, like others mentioned you just have to be brave and just push it in. The trick is to place the Guide beside the original guide, then hook the front part of the new guide over the old one, and then push the apex towards the center of the machine. The rear part will flex and then “click” into place. Hope the PLA will last until I get some PETG.

Have you had any issues with these? I'd also like to print them in PLA but I'm afraid they'll melt after extended use.

They are still there, but I noticed some warping after printing a bunch of things in ABS. I think if you print in PLA primarily, it should be ok. If you plan to print with higher temp materials then consider PETG or higher temp filament.

Thank you! I just print with PLA. I've had these installed in my machine for awhile now with no issues :)

One point that has annoyed me since the beginning was the positioning of the print plate With this small but clever add-on, it almost takes care of itself Ingenious and perfect, thanks for the design (when removing the supports, I was too clumsy and stupid and immediately cut my finger... 😕, my own fault 😅 )

In gray ASA. Not only looks like it is part of the printer, but should have been there in the first place. Really makes it easy to load a build plate.

!!! DO NOT USE THIS MODEL !!! The camera on the x1c hits the plate guide when printing in the rear right corner and bumps the whole build plate down, causing defects in all prints that use this area!

Can you elaborate on this? I'm curious.

The guide does not have enough clearance for the camera on the X1C. So when printing in the rear right corner, the camera hits the guide and pushes the whole bed down.

It fits and completely fulfills its purpose. The print plate sits perfectly on the print bed
