Description

These are fun rockets with boosters that extend on take-off. I designed two sizes and each contain two parts: the main rocket body and the boosters. The larger rocket has four small boosters and the smaller rocket has one large booster.  These make great little gifts or party favors 🚀

Layer Height 0.2mm

PLA works great

15-20% Infill

Supports needed for the area around the boosters on the Large Rocket

Dimensions of Large Rocket: 4in x 2 3/8in

Dimensions of Small Rocket: 3 1/4in x 1 7/8in

There are two ways you can print these rockets (I included both in their print profiles):

  1. Print the complete rocket: this prints great but if you want multi-color for the boosters (and/or fins) it’s going to take some time (I found 8-10hrs)
  2. Print the boosters first, print the rocket second pausing at layer height 15.6mm for the large rocket and 30.6mm for the small rocket, drop the boosters in and then continue printing. This method is much faster:)

In the print profile for the small rocket I included the complete rocket to print on plate #1. On plates #2 & #3 I separated the rocket from the boosters, so they can be printed separately (make sure to print the boosters first:)

In the print profile for the larger rocket I included the complete rocket to print on plate #1. On plates #2 & #3 I separated the rocket from the 4 sets of small boosters so they can be printed separately (again make sure to print the boosters first:)

Note: supports are needed for the larger rocket at the base around the rings for the boosters. I have included those supports in my print profile. (Also note if you are printing plate #3, I did not include supports in the booster chambers so that they are clear to drop the boosters in:)

My designs are free for personal and non-commercial use. If you would like to sell them for commercial use, send me a message and we can discuss the details:)

Thanks so much!

Have fun printing these…they’re a blast 🚀
