  • 5M brass threaded insert (any length from 5mm to 10 mm works) x 1: This brass threaded insert has to be heated and pressed into the hole in the middle

Description

The brass threads on my kitchen aid drive gear stripped out!

Kitchen Aid will only sell you a replacement part that costs about $60, I didn't want to pay for that or wait for shipping so I designed a replacement gear. I have been using it for a few weeks to shred cheese and other things and it is holding up pretty well!

The drive gear on the bottom of the work bowl that connects the motor to the drive shaft on the work bowl. This is the model of kitchenaid food processor I have: KFP0718

To complete this part you have to heat insert a brass 5M threaded insert. any 5M threaded insert between 5mm length and 10mm length should work: Here is an amazon link to some 5M inserts that work

I printed this in PETG and used a 5M brass threaded heat insert
