Universal RFID Tag Holder with Filament Label for 3rd-Party Filament
This is a simple yet elegant design, combining the much loved filament labels with RFID tags from spent Bambu Lab filament spools. (or you can write(copy) your own tags if you are technically inclined.) and reuse them on your 3rd-party filaments.
By having a RFID tag, you can have the AMS automatically select the right material and colour, as well as being able to get an estimated remaining amount of filament.
The label area uses the same 40x30mm labels from https://3dfilamentprofiles.com/ also found on Filament Sample Card by 喵喵mya.
I use the Phomemo M220 with great results and can print from PC or Mobile. (Aliexpress)
Similar other printers will work too and you can even get label for your normal printers and print from those, label printers are just easier and have many other application for every day use.
RFID tags can be inserted in the front with the label going over it, it can also be slotted into the back with the help of glue or double sided tape. I opted for the front, however the back is also a snug print when printed on my H2D, so it should likely stay in place just fine.
The spool ring should be low profile enough that you can have one on each side of the spool, however it works fine on one side so you can put the 2nd on a different spool.
I have printed them in ASA as well as PETG, and they have been holding up just fine after weeks of various drying sessions inside an AMS 2 Pro and AMS HT.
