Description
Magnetic Spider
I modeled this spider after a Black Widow, and it prints with about 1 gram of filament for a solid color. This works great to scare people, and a little detail to your dnd games, as a magic prop, and many other uses. Makes for a great Halloween decoration too. I originally made it for a magic trick. I also added a non-magnetic version and a fridge magnet version. I added a channel in the solid versions so you can hang them with a small string or floss. The fridge magnet version just has the hollow space lower in the model. I made this to be printed flat and then to gently and slowly move the legs into place. This can be printed in Pla, however, Petg and Petg HF will hold up longer as the legs are very thin to keep the realism. Tpu would probably work great too, but I haven't tested yet. I image it can be scaled but I haven't tested it. I wouldn't go much smaller though as the legs will probably fall off. There are pauses placed in the magnetic versions. Pauses should be placed at the top bridging level (as seen in picture). If you change the layer height make sure to change pausing layer. When the printer pauses simply push 2 8mm x 2mm magnets into the spider (take time to make sure the polarity is correct if that matters for your use).

I really appreciate your supporting. A boost, rating, or even a like goes a long way and encourages me to keep creating. Thank you.
IMPORTANT PLEASE READ
I recommend using a smooth, supertack plate, or similar for best results. The legs can be tricky on a pei plate, so I recommend using glue if you have adhesion issues. If you don't have access to a high adhesion plate or have an aversion to glue, I would recommend slowing the speed on at least the first layer.
To use the hanging version just find a piece of string that will fit in the small hole (spider butt) and push through. Pull through extra and tie a bunch of knots in a ball then make sure it won't pull back through. cut excess and color string knot with a black marker. I recommend tying a knot in the other end of the string so it can't be pulled out. Pics in the profile pictures to help.
Make sure to make red the first color to print in each layer. (helps red print with less defects)

Updates: Added color, added hole to solid models for hanging, added 10cm large spider profile, added 10 spiders plates profile.
Here is the magic trick I am working on. It is easier to trap or get rid of a spider when you can make it go through solid objects :) If you're interested in the trick, I will release it and explain the trick in another print. and link here when its ready.
