Description

Small Water Tank (3D-Printable Model)

Give your desktop or small-scale project a functional focal point with this compact water tank design. Whether you need a miniature reservoir for a tabletop fountain, a tiny hydroponic vessel, or simply a decorative planter, this model delivers a clean, cylindrical shape that’s optimized for strength and minimal filament use (≈ 15 g of PLA). It prints with supports and can hold liquids when sliced at the right settings.

Usage

  1. Print & Remove
Once printing finishes, let the part cool completely. Gently remove it from the bed—its wide base should peel off cleanly without warping.
  2. Post-Processing (Optional)
    • Sanding: Lightly sand the interior walls (200–400 grit) to smooth layer lines; this helps with sealing and aesthetics.
    • Sealing (PLA Only): Apply a thin coat of food-safe epoxy or aquarium silicone to the inside. Allow at least 24 hours to cure according to the sealant’s instructions.
  3. Fill & Deploy
Place the tank on a level surface. If using as a planter, add a small layer of gravel for drainage, then soil and your cuttings or tiny plant. For a desktop fountain, connect a small submersible pump and route tubing through a discreet hole in the side. To use as a pen holder or catchall, simply fill with pens, office supplies, or other small items.
  4. Maintenance
    • Liquid Use (PETG/ABS): Rinse periodically with mild soap to avoid buildup.
    • Decorative Use: Clean with a damp cloth if dust accumulates.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Versatile Functionality: Whether you need a miniature hydroponic reservoir, a desktop fountain base, or a simple pen holder, this water tank adapts to your project.
  • Watertight When Properly Sliced: With 4 perimeters and 100 % infill in PETG or sealed PLA, you can reliably hold water without leaks.
  • Compact & Stylish: The clean, cylindrical aesthetic fits seamlessly into modern workspaces, gaming desks, and hobby setups.
