Boost Me (for free)
Every boost helps motivate me to keep restoring and importing more great works of art into MakerWorld. Thanks for supporting this ongoing project!
This remix is based on a heavily restored Roman statue of Marcus Aurelius, which combines a cuirassed body with a portrait head in his second official likeness, likely created around 140 AD to commemorate his appointment as consul. Although the head and body were not originally joined, this reconstruction reflects how Marcus Aurelius’s public image evolved during his rise to power. The original statue is housed at the Museo Arqueológico al Teatro Romano in Spain and was shared via Scan the World under a remixable noncommercial license.
I imported the .stl into Bambu Studio, oriented it for optimal printing, and scaled it to the maximum dimensions supported by A1, P1, and X1 printers. I optimized infill settings and limited supports to reduce overall print time and material usage while maintaining stability and detail.
Removing supports from the hands was particularly challenging. Despite being cautious, I broke off a thumb and a finger, both of which I later reattached. I also smoothed away support remnants from the nose, chin, and hands using a file and fine-grit sandpaper. A close-up photo of the repaired hand is included for others facing similar issues.
Printed in Elegoo Marble PLA using the Generic High-Speed PLA profile.

Note: Tall prints can lose adhesion in the final moments. Please wash your build plate prior to printing. Or consider scaling down 10%. I've also had really good luck using BIQU Cryogrip Pro Frostbite build plates.
