Description

This is a top spool holder for the P1 series printers. Recently, I purchased a roll of TPU 85A, but had no way to print it (as it needed to be fed in from above the printer and my P1S is on a table). To solve this, I began looking on makerworld for solutions, but every single one of them required existing modifications (like an AMS riser) or over 300 grams of filament. In addition, many of them could not support themselves with just PLA. Unlike those models, this spool holder works on a stock P1S / X1C and uses less than 200 grams of filament.

To assemble the spool holder, first remove the top glass and attach the two sides to the upper rim of the printer as shown in the GIF. Then, simply put the desired spool on the inner cylindrical part and snap each of the two nubs into the holes of the side parts. This step may be a little tricky, but after a try or two, it becomes simple.

I recommend printing this in PLA. However, ABS and PETG should also work with no problems.
