TANTRIX

I played Tantrix online many years ago, almost every day. I was totally addicted to it :-)

The game is for 2-4 players and originally it was a board game, then it was made for playing online.

Then Java was disabled on PC and it was not possible for me to play, neither on new technologies like iPad. So I created the board game for myself. I had mosaic tiles and I printed tile patterns on paper and glued on tiles.

Today I had an opportunity to 3d print them.

I found svg files on Wikipedia, imported in Fusion and there it is!

You can also play game online on Tantrix.com, but you have to install Java and start exe file. Or you can print these tiles and play with friends “face to face”. Please see the rules in attached file.

You need to print tiles 4 times with differet colour set as described below:

You need 56 tiles total (there are 14 pieces in each colour combination):
Colour combinations in AMS = 1234 = KRBY, KRGY, KBGY, KRGB
K is always = 1

K=black
Y=yellow
R=red
B=blue
G=green

I created 4 tile sets with corresponding colours - please note I only had silk PLA yellow, everything else is PLA. Change filament type according to yours.

Instructions are very clear. Prints are clean and easy. We played several times and we love it. The box in the image is just a random one I had around. Thank you so much!

Great print, the instructions with the colors worked well. However, I reduced the color height to 1 mm because that's enough and requires fewer changes

I just want to clear my doubts on the instructions. do I print the plate 4 times and just swap the colours around manually in the AMS as stated in the instructions?

Yes, thats correct. Black is always in A1 and other colours need to be swapped around.

I suggest using Studio and reassigning colors 2, 3, and 4 in the filament section to the preferred combinations. AMS should map. May not make much difference but should improve purge for clean colors every time.

This game is awesome. I discovered it through a physical education teacher who ran workshops with board games and other types of games. I was so engrossed that I had bought it myself, but I lost it during a move. Now I've found it thanks to you. Thank you for your contribution. I will be printing it to play with my students

how is a winner determined

You count who has longer line of his colour. If you make loop it counts double. for example loop of 4 has value 8 but line of 4 has value 4. Game ends when you run out of tiles.
