Description

This is a binder for holding together papers punched with a standard 2-hole punch. It can hold about 80 sheets of copy paper. No support is needed, and it can be printed in about 30 minutes. I use it to bind misprinted sheets and repurpose them as notepads.

Printed in PolyMaker PolyTerra PLA Charcoal Black. The designer did not even intend for it to be used in this way (as seen from the description), and it still works great! Comes in very handy if the standard paper binder used in offices is too big for your application. The clasp seems to lock very securely and I do not believe that the clasp would ever open on its own. Although I am a bit worried about the strength of the two "pegs" that the paper stacks onto, as they rely solely on the layer adhesion of the filament. I myself do not see any way to improve the design itself, so the only thing that comes to mind is to maybe use PETG filament (or some other, better option) if the strength is of paramount importance, but I do not know if that would affect the folding capabilities which are necessary in order for this binder to work.

I printed PLA first but was to weak in the pins, so I printed in ABS instead and then it became strong enough. The pins broke of easily if PLA.

Too short for standard 3-ring binder hole punchers
