Description

Design Lamp (LED Lamp Kit-001)

This is a harmonic LED Lamp in a form of a pipe.

Good to know before printing

  • Important: Use my print profile! It is highly adapted for this print to work.
    • If you have problems with overhangs, use a 0.6mm nozzle with 0.18mm layer height. You could also lower the nozzle temp by 5-10 degrees Celsius, but try a bigger nozzle first.
  • I used Bambu Lab PLA Matte, Ivory White and Desert Tan
  • Buy the LED Lamp Kit-001

the print quality of the base and lamp shade were absolutely incredible. I can tell there was a lot of work put into variable layer height and it shows. I’ve got two issues: 1) the light just isn’t very bright at all. I’m using bambu matte PLA bone white, and I’m not sure how much of a difference that makes but even in a dark room it barely puts out any light. 2) there’s some serious banding issues when the lamp is lit up. I’m not sure if switching to a 0.6mm nozzle will help, I don’t have one but I might order one to see, but yeah the two things make it difficult to actually use as anything other than a decoration. the design is stunning and the print profile is incredible so kudos, and if you have any info on how I can salvage it I’d love to hear it cause I’m obsessed with the design

I use the LED lamp kit from bambu lab and it lights up my print well. But I use bambu lab PLA matte. Im thinking about the banding… Maybe check the print settings so it doesn’t are inconsistent infill. Maybe use 100% concentric infill? 0.6mm nozzles are great for problems with overhang.

yeah that’s the weird thing, my flaming is also bambulab Pla matte and I’m also using LED kit 001. I just used the app so that I could use ask your settings a stock but I might pull it into the slicer and see what I can change

@CEMS Okay so I think I see the issue, because the walls are horizontally thicker at the top and the bottom, its generating more infill in those regions causing the banding. It might be less of an issue with filament that allows the light to shine through more, I might try with a different PLA, I think I have some Ivory White, but I wouldn't have expected it to be this dramatic

The top part of the print is failing terribly, I have used the original print profile to print with 0.6 mm nozzle and 0.18 mm layer height and reduced temp to 200 degrees what should I do now to avoid this?

Hi! I´m not exactly sure why you get this problem. Do you use Bambu Lab PLA Matte filament? Some defects due to to massive overhang is expected but not that much.

Yes it is PLA matte, ivory white, from bambu lab. but currently I am printing using your ‘special overhangs profile’ at 0.6 /0.12 mm layer height, let’s see how it goes. Thanks for responding though.

Hope it goes well. I see that you even have problems with the threads. And the thread are easy to print even with 0.4mm nozzle. I wonder if there is some other problems.

A truly beautiful lamp! The main body printed flawlessly; however, the globe exhibited some minor imperfections at the base

Try to print it 5 or 10 celcius cooler.

Try a 0.6mm nozzle with 0.18mm layer height

Other Issues:Beautiful design but unfortunately I am unable to print the top part without very visible defects. I have tried lowering the temp 5, 10, 15 and 20 degrees. It improved a little but not very much. There is also a horizontal line that appears at the top part at the same spot (not printer related; tested on multiple printers) and the top finish is a bit messy. The bottom part prints flawlessly and looks amazing!

You should use a 0.6mm nozzle with 0.18mm layerheight for better overhangs

But the flaw at the top... I don´t know what to say about that. How does it look in the slicer in the preview tab? Almost looks like the nozzle crashed into the part and it moved. Make sure to try concentric infill pattern if its not enabled in the slicer. Is your filament 100% dry?

Awesome model :) Base is perfect, but the lampshade can't be printed cleanly, despite all your tips, I'm having problems - see pictures. Do you have a tip what could be the reason? Thanks and greetings

So the 0.6mm nozzle with 0.18mm layer height didn’t help? If you have a 0.8mm nozzle it could help. But I never tried it.

Hi @CEMS , I'd like to print this project for a friend's birthday. Regarding the top sphere, do you recommend a matte white pla or a clear PETG? Thanks in advance.

I would use Pla Matte Ivory White with a 0.6mm nozzle at 0.18mm layer height
