Angel of Remembrance is based on a 3D scan of a grave figure from the Vienna Central Cemetery. The original statue depicts a solemn, winged angel holding a flower branch, standing in a traditional pose of mourning. The downcast expression, folded hands, and layered robes evoke themes of quiet reflection, loss, and peace. The scan was created by noe-3d.at and shared under a non-commercial license via Sketchfab.
I began with the .obj file and imported it into Bambu Studio. I repaired the mesh geometry, corrected scan irregularities, and leveled the base to improve bed adhesion. I re-oriented the model for upright printing and configured supports to protect detailed elements like the wings, hands, and flower. I also maximized the model’s scale for A1 printers. Print settings were tuned to ensure detail retention while maintaining structural integrity.
Printed in Elegoo Marble PLA using the Generic High-Speed PLA profile. After printing, I used a file and fine-grit sandpaper to remove support scars and smooth key features—especially along the hands and flowers, chin, and the base of the wings—while preserving surface texture.
