Description

Boost Me (for free)

Every boost helps motivate me to keep restoring and importing more great works of art into MakerWorld. Thanks for supporting this ongoing project!

This model is a remix of a traditional Thai Buddha sculpture, rendered in a seated meditation posture on a lotus base. The original design reflects stylistic elements common to Thai Buddhist art, such as the tightly curled hair, the elongated earlobes, and the flowing robe draped over one shoulder. The serene expression and hand placement (mudra) represent peace, contemplation, and enlightenment.

I began with the base model and imported it into Bambu Studio. I repaired the mesh, simplified minor surface irregularities, and re-oriented the model to reduce overhangs during printing. I also modified the bottom surface to improve bed adhesion and maximized the scale for A1, P1, and X1 printers, ensuring the fine surface details were preserved at larger sizes. Support structures were customized, particularly around the hands and robe, to minimize print scars and cleanup.

Printed in Elegoo Marble PLA using the Generic High-Speed PLA profile. After printing, I used a file and fine-grit sandpaper to smooth out support marks and refine fine details around the face, hands, and lotus petals.

Note: Tall prints can lose adhesion in the final moments. Please wash your build plate prior to printing. Or consider scaling down 10%. I've also had really good luck using BIQU Cryogrip Pro Frostbite build plates.
