About the design
The MOTH is a compact computer case featuring a linear rods folding frame and a quick-release exterior mechanism, enabling high maintainability and ease of installation. Its folding structure, inspired by the wing motion of moths or butterflies, allows the case to be either vertically folded to save desk space or laid flat to maximize heat dissipation. Users can easily access back area of motherboard to install m2 devices or cooler's screws. The case supports an ITX motherboard, SFX/SFX-L power supply, 280mm liquid cooling radiator, 315mm 3slots graphic card, and two 2.5-inch SATA hard drives. The large radiator permits the use of high-end CPU models on the motherboard. The exterior is equipped with quick-release clips at the bottom.
The design is optimised for consumer-grade 3D printers. Despite the complexity of the structure, the material waste rate is only about 4 per cent; all parts do not exceed a print area of 245x245x225mm, making online distribution possible. Users can also customise the materials or the model to create their own variations. I made a rock like exterior as an example, feel free to make your own variant.
The name MOTH is derived from Dive into the Flame, a track from the Armored Core 20th Anniversary Special Disk.
