Description

Simple way of hatching brine shrimp - no airline required.

Fill up with salt water just below the top-edge of the removable walls and scatter brine shrimp eggs along the outer perimeter.

Place in a well lit area - possibly warm (to increase hatching rate) and just wait.

The eggs will either sink in the outer perimeter or float, while the hatched baby brine shrimps will be attracted by the light coming through the hole in the lid and they'll swim towards the center.

After 24-48h you'll see that most of the hatched bbs will be in the center, right above the scoop. Pull out the scoop and sieve the brine shrimp in a container. You can repeat the process until satisfied and dump the salt water back in the dish.

Bbs are a great food source for fish fry and live-feeding fish, but generally all fish will love them.

--------------------------------------------------------------- SUGGESTION----------------------------------------------------------------

I recommend printing in black so the light doesn't penetrate the walls resulting in bbs gathering on one side instead of the center, if you can print the removable walls and the scoop in white or similar, even better. You can alternatively paint it black or ductaping the surfaces.

FOR THOSE WHO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE ROUNDED BOTTOM:

There is a simplified version with a straight bottom, to access it you have to download the raw files. (STL and not 3MF)
You should also consider calibrating your printer, because it should not have issues printing it if calibrated correctly.

put the white part in position and the salt with eggs in the outer ring....24 hours later shrimps starts swimming to the light . Water must be filled that there is a water parcour from outer ring to center. Works excellent

I printed it in PETG with no problems. it’s smaller than the brand box but if you only have one fish tank it’s great. BBS hatched faster in this self printed box as well. five stars. Thak you!

you can pick which parts you want to print from the build plate in the app (4/4) in the last window where you hit print near the top. I choose the inner ring and the little spoon thing and printed in white. hope that helps

I printed it without much enthusiasm because I had tried several systems before with an aerator and a heater and had not been successful and I placed this one on the underfloor heating and next to a glass window and in less than 24 hours there were already Artemia nauplii in the middle spoon I have already taken out and emptied the spoon four times and they are still coming out

This is a very good model! However, I suggest making a hole in the lid in a strategic way to introduce an airline tubing, as this greatly increases the hatching rate of the brine shrimp and also keeps them alive for a longer period. Otherwise, most of them will die and sink to the bottom of the container, and likely more than half won't hatch. I hope you take this into consideration. Best regards.

Hi, thanks for your feedback! I would recommend using the bottle method if you want to use the airline tubing, as this method is designed not to have extra accessories and harvest smaller batches than the bottle.
