Description
This is a smaller version of those toothpaste tube squeezers designed to fit a standard honey stick. My daughter (3) had a hard time getting all the honey out of the straw and this helps her get every last drop!
How to use:
- Bite open the honey stick and eat a small amount out
- Turn the crank until the slots in the shaft and body line up
- Insert the bottom of the honey stick through the body first, then the shaft slot. It should protrude past the shaft just a little
- Turn the crank to roll up the honey stick and deliver its sweet nectar
- When finished, pinch the shaft latch and pull the shaft a little ways out. This should disengage the ratchet
- Pull the squeezer away while holding the top of the honey stick in your teeth and the straw will easily unwrap and come out
Credit for the design goes to Luke's 3D original toothpaste squeezer, however the model comes from Roland Deschain's ratcheted toothpaste squeezer which I found to be an improvement. To make it work for honey sticks, I scaled it down, shortened the body and shaft, and widened the slots.
Printing Recommendations:
- The body and crank handle can be printed in almost anything, PLA works fine
- The shaft and ratchet mechanism are best printed in ABS. PETG works too but the ratchet was too loose in my opinion. PLA can work but is more likely to break and the ratcheting is too strong.
