An ornamental sign post letting all passers-by know that Critters are out and about! We had some squirrels actually wear a trail into a small hill leading to our bird feeders and felt it worthy of marking as an established trail!
.2mm layer height, 3 walls, infill varies a bit to provide support for a mounting “spike”. I used Bambu PLA Wood Black Walnut; not the best material for outdoors, but the wood PLA looks great! Feel free to give it a shot in PETG, ABS, or ASA. Print time for 1 post and 1 sign is 1 hour 54 minutes in PLA Wood and 1 hour 37 minutes in PLA basic or matte. The post measures 1 x 8 inches and the sign measures 2.5 x 6 inches.
The profile includes a “CRITTER CROSSING”, CRITTER TRAIL", and blank signs. The letters have been split so you can easily make the lettering any color that you want. The blank sign, well we'll leave that up to your imagination - populate as you see fit! Just slide the sign dovetail into the post and you're good to go! Would also make a great planter sign where you can have seasonal/holiday signs.
There is a .130 inch diameter hole (by 2 inches deep) in the post base to insert a “spike” for easy mounting. I used an 1/8 inch diameter x 4 inch long piece of 304 stainless steel rod I had left over from another project - make the length suited to your needs. You could also use a nail or even a piece of coat hanger if desired.
