Modular Shoe Rack – Customizable Width & Height
Boost Me (for free)
This is my inaugural 3D model on MakerWorld! I conceived it for simplicity, practicality, and extensive customization for everyday use. If you appreciate modular, functional prints that integrate 3D printing with basic hardware such as wooden rods, your support would be invaluable. It sustains my motivation to design and share more useful creations with the community. Thank you!
This modular shoe rack system offers unparalleled flexibility in width and height. The lateral frames are printable components, compatible with 19mm diameter wooden dowels (readily available at most hardware retailers). The design permits scaling the rack to any desired width or height by simply adding more dowels and frames.
🟢 The depicted model measures 70 cm in width and incorporates three tiers, but expansion is entirely unrestricted. For wider configurations, additional central supports are provided to ensure stability across greater spans.
Assembly is intuitive: simply insert the dowels into the pre-drilled apertures. Optional screw holes are situated beneath each slot to secure the dowels more firmly with wood screws, if desired.
Files included:
- Side frame STL
- Optional middle support STL (for extra-wide constructions)
This presents a refined, practical solution for makers seeking a customizable and robust shoe rack utilizing printed parts and simple wooden dowels.
Modular Shoe Rack – Expandable Width & Height
This shoe rack is founded upon a modular system featuring 3D-printed side panels. It is specifically engineered for integration with standard wooden dowels (Ø 19 mm). This enables the construction of a rack to any desired width or height—precisely tailored to individual needs.
🟢 The showcased model is 70 cm wide and comprises three tiers, yet is freely expandable. For exceptionally wide versions, supplementary central supports are included to enhance stability.
Assembly is straightforward: the wooden dowels are simply inserted into the designated openings. Optional wood screws can be used for added security—corresponding bore holes are located on the underside of the frame.
Included Files:
- STL of the side frames
- STL of the optional central support (for wide versions)
A refined, robust DIY project for those wishing to combine practical applications with 3D printing.
