My kids love dinosaurs these days and my sons teacher in his special needs class has been asking if we could donate puzzles to work on fine motor skills with the kiddos in their class. So far the kiddos love the puzzles so I wanted to share them with MakerWorld!

Printing Notes

  • ensure build plate is very clean for maximum adhesion
  • use brim for base pieces to minimize warping
  • post processing required to remove brim

5 Stars if it would let me rate :) & BOOSTED! I made 3 of these puzzles for gifts - they are so cool. One has already been dispersed and the small person recipient was digging it, and really liked the flexi's of the dinosaurs. Next time I'm going to work on my flushings or use different filament though, to avoid the black bleed. I was using Sunlu on all these, and they tend to be on the more translucent side of the spectrum. The kidlette didn't seem to mind, so we're just rolling with it :)

Yup, I saw the ocean one the other day. I'm definitely going to make all that you post. My cousin does daycare for 2 kiddos on the spectrum; one of them looooooooves his puzzles. I need another printer, lol.

Awesome gift for my nephew's 1st bday! Had to add another couple color penetration layers for the orange to be more opaque. Unfortunately doesn't help with the dark around the joints but I don't mind it

Great design! The dinosaurs are cute, kid-friendly, and easily distinguishable. The puzzle layout is well thought out with fitting connections. Nice extra touches like bones and footprints add charm. Perfect for children ā€“ fun and visually appealing!

My 2-year old son loves it. I printed the base in PETG because I preferred that color. Just wondering: did you get warping on the base without the brim? It does not seem like it would be necessary and it was a pain to remove, more so for the PETG but that was my own choice.

I did specifically on the little tabs and on the corners with the matte PLA I used. Freshly cleaned build plate too so it just seemed like those pieces were prone to warping and I didnā€™t want to chance it. The puzzle looks great by the way!

took a few days to get all the pieces done on my A1 Mini, and also had a few rejects due to not loving the bleed of the black onto lighter colors. Once I chose darker colors for the body color, it seemed to resolve -- although not sure if that is a coincidence or not and it was really more of a brand name issue? Regardless, came out great and my little dino lover is going to be thrilled!
