Description

There are a lot of shelf systems for attaching Gridfinity Bins to Skadis pegboards, but they all use the standard Gridfinity specifications for the bases, so the bins and trays and tool holders and what have you all have to be placed on from above and I just find them annoying to use. This one uses the base as rails so your bins, trays, etc can all just slide off and on.

 

 

The back of the rail takes the same 6x2mm magnets as the Gridfinity and baseplates so it acts as a little magnetic detent or latch so your bins aren't sliding loose.

 

This system uses the excellent Skadis T-Nuts mounting system by 6d6178 on Printables and the accompanying M3 direct thread T-nuts by ORM as I (generally) prefer that to hooks, or the M3 Direct thread T-nuts by Arough here on Makerworld but, with T-Nuts or hooks, one thing I don't like with Skadis is that you need an A and a B version of every item with hook/mounts staggered by one row in order to let you mount any given item where you want. So I made a peg system that puts sockets in the back of the mounting face, so the pegs only have to go in the Skadis slots you want to use, meaning any given Skadis item can be mounted in any location without having to print another version with staggered mounts, though I have included A and B versions with staggered mounts for those who prefer that. As a side benefit, the socket and peg version I designed allows items to be printed with their back mounting face down on the buildplate, which gives you more flexibility when designing items, although this one should still be printed with the bottom down on the buildplate.

 

Each slider mount uses less than 100g of filament, including supports. They can accommodate standard 6u Gridfinity bins (or Gridfinity Refined bins, as pictured) while still allowing room for you to grab them with a finger. I might make other sizes in the future, but all the stuff I've designed is really built around this 2x4 unit design and I haven't found any reason to change it yet. Shallower than 2 units and it doesn't make sense to use a slider system like this, and deeper than 2 units and it would make more sense to use actual drawers instead of mounting them to your pegboard, while 4 units width allows for most everything I need, and lets it fit on an A1 mini bed as well.

 

I would also recommend using my skadis t-nut alignment tools for easier install.
