Description

EFlite Habu 32 PETG fuel tank for the conversion from EDF to turbine. The capacity is just over 900ml. This tank is designed to use the Dubro DB3362 tank cap and fittings.

 

Its a simple print and assembly:

  • Print the tank as oriented with the opening on the build plate. A textured plate is recommended for later steps.
  •  Print the fuel ring plate. This ring has 100% infill for strength
  • Mix approximately 20mm of West Systems Epoxy resin and coat the inside of the tank completely to seal then allow any extra to drain out and cure. West Systems Epoxy is very fluid and of high quality against JetA1 so is the best choice.
  • Using a good quality epoxy adhesive like Loctite Hysol to glue the textured side of the fuel ring to the textured face of the fuel tank. Make sure there its well covered with epoxy to create a good seal then tape in place and allow to cure.
  • Once the fuel ring is cured, use another 20ml West Systems epoxy to coat the outer surface of the fuel tank with a small cheap paint brush, up to the sides of the fuel ring (you don't need to epoxy the top of the fuel ring itself. Only up to its sides) and suspend it allowing the excess resin to drip off the end as it cures.

If wanting no UAT in the Habu switch the clunk to a felt one. But you will need a 3rd inlet into the tank for filling/unfilling

This tank shape has also been test fit into an Avanti S and with a little carving of foam is the perfect fit!
