Description

UPDATE (6/2/2026): I added a profile for VERSION 2 of this PP Up deck box.

– Added a 45° chamfer to blend the bottom radius: this will greatly reduce stringing on the bottom radius due to severe overhang angles

– Re-designed bottle threads to have 45° pitch angle: this will greatly reduce stringing on the threads due to severe overhang angles

– Re-designed cap threads to match new bottle threads

– Added brim to deck box insert: the geometry of the part puts it at great risk of peeling off the build plate mid-print, so the brim helps hold it down

– Rotated logo piece on build plate: the print lines due to the original angle often created gaps on the build plate layer of the logo, so this change was made to address that

Do you want to hit up your locals with a unique, Pokemon-themed TCG deck box? Are you a Pokemon fan who also likes the ever-popular Unova trainer, N? Then this custom deck box may be for you!

This is a deck box designed to look like, and function as, a bottle of PP Up. It resembles the artwork shown in the TCG card “N's PP Up”.

The deck box is designed to hold approximately 80+ single-sleeved standard sized cards OR 60+ double-sleeved standard sized cards. It also has an internal pocket that can hold your dice, coins, and other small play accessories. It has the added bonus of sounding like a supplement bottle when you shake it with the dice and coins inside. The cap lid is threaded and can screw onto the bottle just like a real supplement bottle and it secures your cards and accessories snugly and safely.

It prints with 4 different filament colors so an AMS or AMS lite is recommended. If you wish to print in one color, there's a 3mf plate for that as well. I recommend PLA or PETG filaments in the following colors: brown (for the exposed bottle parts), white (for the label), green (for the label logo), and purple (for the threaded bottle end and cap). The insert could be any color.

This design prints with no supports required. There are 4 total components (or 3 if you print the “no glue” version). To make a functional deck box, you would need the “Can”, “Cap”, and “Insert” parts at a minimum. There is also a “Label” part for printing and gluing to the bottle. If you print the “no glue” version, the AMS or AMS lite will print the logo into the “Can”, but it will use significantly more filament to do so.

If you like my designs, please consider sharing your printouts of them and boosting my works. I appreciate any and all constructive feedback and I greatly appreciate you checking out my designs!

This is an incredible print and loved it! I printed it for a friend for his Zoroark deck. Only issue I had was around the bottom. You can see the loose layers and even break them off a little in some places as well. Not sure if thats something with the file or settings I need to look at though, but otherwise its great!

Thanks for the feedback. The geometry of the bottom of the can is not very friendly for a support-free print, so I may have to adjust this by using less of a radius or leading into the radius with a 45° chamfer instead. From my experience, I've been using adaptive layer lines to prioritize quality and they came out alright in my prints. The brown filament I'm using here is eSUN PLA Plus filament and I believe the filament quality can also lead to better results, but I don't want to lean on that as a "why" for an issue like this because I should prioritize optimization in the profiles first and foremost.

I thought about that if it was a support issue or not. I just printed it with the default settings. I may try that then and see how it goes! But otherwise its a great print and an awesome idea.

Nowadays there are very few things I print that make me think, "This is why I love 3D printing." I am happy to say this was definitely one of those times. Even if you're not an avid Zoroark player this deckbox is still incredible to play with. It takes up just the right amount of space and holds everything you need. I get so many compliments on it at locals as well; I mean, who doesn't love N's PP Up? Overall the print came out amazing and I definitely recommend making it if you're a player of the TCG.

is there one you did that could fit double sleeve decks?

It can hold 60+ double-sleeved cards as designed, but if you need more than that, I'll see if scaling it up is an option. Otherwise, I can try my hand at a modified design. Thanks for the feedback!
