Description

Just got the Bambulab A1, and bought this LED strip from Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DBQ6NC

360 mm (14") long

It is suggested to be stuck to the bottom of the X rail and it creates a horrible light quality. The light is milimeters away from the printing objects, nothing else is illuminated, it's like eating a meal with a headlamp on instead of the room ceiling light. Asanine.

Scoured the internet for printable solutions, all crap. Snapping onto the top bar, popping off, jutting out too close to the printer head in front, etc, all a mess.

Designing devices for 20 years, I decided to quickly spin one up myself. Designed it to be out of the way to the back, slightly lower than the spool holder, illuminating the entire printer.

Also utilizing the front two screws of the top bar that are already there for a secure install.

--

I added snappy tabs to easily snap them together with a shallow cavity for some glue/epoxy. But the snaps alone seem OK.

--

Utilizing the front two screws of the A1 top bar, I left enough space so you can unlatch the spool holder to slide it. But you need to take the light bar off to take the spool holder off completely.

--

Not sure if the AMS and other trinkets fit, I don't need it.

Maybe someone can report on it.

Cheerio.
