Description
Need to squeeze more decibels out of your buzzer? This set of ultra-lightweight acoustic boosters was developed to maximize sound output from compact piezo or magnetic buzzers—no electronics changes required. Starting from a modest baseline of 96dB, the right geometry can deliver a significant gain, reaching nearly 110dB in the best case scenario. Actual boost varies depending on the buzzer's key frequency and the surrounding environment.
Through hands-on testing, four different designs were developed:
- Open Cone – simple, directional boost
- Semi-Closed – adds mild resonance
- Fully Closed – maximizes pressure buildup
- Closed with 2mm Hole – delivers the strongest amplification in narrow spaces

Each booster prints in just a few minutes, using under 0.5g of PLA. There's no one-size-fits-all: testing in your specific application is key.
