BitPen v1.0
Print Profile(2)

Description

š§²āļø BitPen ā The Clever Cousin of the Screwdriver and the Pencil
Ā
A pencil? A screwdriver? A minimalist magic wand?
The BitPen is all of thatāand a little more.
Because life is full of loose screws and great ideas⦠and youād better be ready for both!
š§ How does this little wonder work?
Ā
Up front, it holds a standard 1/4ā hex bitā
but not just any bit: this one writes instead of tightens.
Itās an infinite pencil (yep, one of those that never runs out⦠or almost).
All you need is a 1/4ā eternal pencil refill like this: infinite pen aliexpress or infinite pen amazon
and a countersunk magnetic M2 screw to hold it from the inside.
Ā
Oh, and donāt forget a 5Ć2 mm neodymium magnet to keep the tip locked in place like magic.
Without it? Chaos. Pure chaos.
š§ What if I actually need to screw something in?
Ā
No problem. Just swap the pencil bit for any standard 1/4ā screwdriver bitāeasy.
Plus, the BitPen has a secret storage hatch at the back to carry extra bits:
Ā
⢠The compact model fits 2 extra bits (plus the pencil = 3 tools in total).
⢠The long model holds 4 extras (5 tools total in your pocket!).
Ā
And the rattling? Nope.
The rear cap features an optional TPU insert that acts as a soft stop,
so the bits donāt jingle like maracas in your pocket.
Donāt mind the noise? Leave it out. Your call.
Ā
š An EDC design for people who donāt want to carry a toolbox
Ā
Small, handy, and with more tricks than a Swiss Army knife,
the BitPen is built to follow you everywhere:
desk, backpack, workshop, hiking trip, boring meeting, or that drawer of ārandom useful stuff.ā
Ā
š ļø What do you need to assemble it?
⢠A 1/4ā infinite pencil refillĀ
⢠A countersunk magnetic M2 screw
⢠A 5Ć2 mm neodymium magnet
Printed in PLA+ eSUN without issues.
Threaded parts and the cap fit are quite tight with my print profile,
but they loosen up slightly after a few uses, resulting in a perfect and snug fit.
š© M2 Screw Installation
The M2 screw is installed in the rear part of the 1/4" adapter for the infinite pencil tip.
It must be screwed in this position so that:
- it can interact with the magnet
- and provide magnetic retention
š This is necessary because the pencil adapter itself has no magnetic metal parts, so without the screw it would not stay properly secured and could fall out.
š CAP UPDATE
Iāve updated the cap design to improve both strength and usability.
āø»
š§ New 2-part design
The cap now consists of two separate parts:
⢠The clip is printed separately in horizontal orientation
š This greatly improves resistance to breaking
⢠The clip is attached to the cap using:
⢠mechanical locking features
⢠a small drop of cyanoacrylate glue
š This combination provides significantly higher strength compared to the previous version
āø»
āļø Improved fit
Iāve added relief grooves in the connection area to the BitPen:
⢠Before: the fit could feel too tight
⢠Now:
š putting on and removing the cap is much easier and smoother
āø»
š§² Compatibility
⢠The original cap is still available in the print profile
š You can choose whichever version you prefer
āø»
šØļø PRINTING
⢠The new cap requires minimal supports
ā ļø Important:
š It is highly recommended to use my print profile
⢠If supports are generated in the wrong areas, they can be difficult to remove
⢠Using the included profile:
š supports are very easy to remove
š and are fully optimized
āø»
š BITPEN V2.0
There is now also a BitPen V2.0, which adds a new feature:
š Integrated Victorinox tweezers in the cap
⢠No need to reprint the entire model
⢠ā
You only need to print the V2.0 cap
⢠š It is fully compatible with BitPen 1.0
āø»
š¬ This update is focused on making the BitPen stronger, easier to use, and more versatile for everyday carry.
Ā
BitPen: Write. Repair. Repeat.
