Boost me if you love science, lab tools, or just hate paper grid falling apart! If this tool made you smile, helped your lab, or sparked an idea — hit that Boost and help more makers discover it!
Standard paper grid dividers used in lab freezer boxes for storing microcentrifuge tubes often become deformed or mushy over time due to repeated exposure to humidity, condensation, and temperature cycling. To solve this, I’ve designed 3D-printable plastic dividers in both 9×9 and 10×10 grid formats. These inserts are durable, snug-fitting, and resistant to moisture damage — offering a mess-free, long-lasting alternative for keeping your tubes upright and organized.
Each divider consists of two interlocking comb pieces (X and Y). To fully outfit one box, you’ll need to print the design twice — once for each direction.
The divider is also compatible with storage in liquid nitrogen tanks, making it ideal for cryogenic sample management where traditional paper grids quickly degrade.
