Description

[EDIT 12/2024] Hey, come to see my new Mario :) https://makerworld.com/en/models/878581

ORIGNAL POST:

First, I want to thank 86duino the original author for his excellent work, we can find it on cults and thingiverse.

I really like the work done but the watermark completely “distorts” Mario...so I made the following changes:

  • removed watermark on the right leg
  • removed watermark on both gloves
  • removed watermark behind the head (this one was hidden, I realized it after)

  • added “marks” on gloves
  • added theeth to the smile
  • added fully printable eye
  • added fully printable logo M

I have a multi-material printer and was able to print the mouth, eyes and M logo by painting from the Slicer, but I also printed a Luigi where the author had separated all the colored parts for everyone to print. As a result I created an assembly version of Mario by separating the M logo from the cap in 2 parts, the eyes in 3 parts and the mouth in 2 parts.

There is 2 folders:

  • Painting or MMU contains the closest files to the original, only the watermarks have been removed and the gloves have been modified
  • Multipart contains all the modifications but also the eyes, the mouth and the logo in several parts

The tolerances can be different depending on the calibration of your printers, make a test by printing the 3 parts of the eyes.

The model is 90cm high, happy printing

This guy turned out amazing. I turned the pants head and hair to print more upright. Make sure you have a full roll of filament for the pants. Takes a ton. thank you

I was reading comments bc I wanted to turn pants up right or as close as possible. Do you have any recommendations on supports before I print him.

Same problem here! I'm new to 3D printing and I can't find a solution to print the mustache on the A1 Mini! :( If anyone can help I would really appreciate!

I have very bad damage where the supports were removed. Any suggestions on how I can improve this?

Do not print lying, print straight with supports at the foot junction.

I redownloaded the original hand file, but only one hand appears, not both. What could be happening?

I scaled the model up to double this size. I got an 50cm tall Mario. All parts fitted perfect.

Wash your bed with hot water and soap. Slow the first layer speed. it's seems that's a adhesion problem. try this... Support break ? maybe an overextrusion and the nozzle hit the support...

This is a labour of love, but so worth it! It takes a long time to print but the upside is it saves a lot of wasted filament as opposed to if it printed as a whole with the AMS. I had to print the head twice as the eye supports didn’t work and filament kept catching on the hot end, it started to happen again with the second one so I paused and pushed it back down with my finger. All in all a cool looking Mario, my son loves it!

Sorry to hear that, sometimes lightning infill is fussy.. You can increase the percentage another 10% on that part and it will add much more stability for those bridges while adding very little to the total filament used! 🙂

I am having the same issue. @Studio77 are you saying to add 10% to the sparse infill density?

Yes, add another 10% and it will add much more stability to the infill!

Awesome model printed so Mario is approx 30cm tall, everything scaled well but eyes print better as a multicolour print rather than separate pieces which are difficult to slot together.

It turned out sensational, only the eyes could fit better but otherwise it was perfect
