The Nicot ½ Entrance Reducer is the ideal accessory for the targeted control and securing of the entrance to your beehive. It fits many common hive systems and offers four practical functions:

• Fully open – for unrestricted bee flight.
• Drone excluder – worker bees get through, drones remain in the hive.
• Ventilation mode with mesh opening – ideal for transport or hot days.
• Closure mode – completely secures the entrance, e.g. for migrations.

The slider is easily operated from the outside – without disturbing the bee colony. Robust, durable and easy to clean – a must for every apiary.

Using the Nicot Entrance Reducer

1. Assembly:
   • Simply insert the entrance reducer into the provided guide on the front of the hive.
   • The appropriate length and height of the slider should match the entrance of your hive
2. Operating modes:
   • 🔓 Open position: Position the slider so that the entire entrance is free – for unrestricted bee traffic.
   • 🚫 Drone excluder: The middle area with small openings only allows worker bees through – ideal for drone control.
   • 🌬️ Ventilation position: Use the mesh area – promotes air circulation, e.g. during transport.
   • 🔒 Closure: The slider is completely closed – protects the colony from robbing, cold or during migrations.
3. Notes:
   • Before use during transport: attach in good time to minimize stress for the colony.
   • Regular cleaning is recommended, especially with pollen or propolis deposits.
