Description

Large ear tag, can be functional if printed with TPU, feels almost identical to store-bought Polyurethane ear tags. Print it and use a marker to add numbers and lettering, or add them in Bambu Studio! Add custom text, your brand, or anything you want really, in Bambu Studio! Use these as ear tags, luggage tags, decoration, or scale them down to make them a key-chain

I tried printing this in TPU but the first layer just smears everywhere. any recommendations as to what I am doing wrong and could do different to fix that?

That’s odd, people generally have issues with TPU sticking too much. The first thing I’d recommend is redownloading the files and starting over. Occasionally files can get corrupted somewhere between downloading and printing. I’d check to make sure everything on your printer is good and your build plate is level (if your printer doesn’t have self leveling). I’d also use a build plate adhesive, most of the time with TPU adhesive is a release agent because it is typically so sticky and difficult to remove from the bed. It’s probably also worth printing another part like a benchy with your tpu, and see if you have the same issue. TPU is also very Hygroscopic, so if you haven’t taken steps to ensure the filament hasn’t absorbed moisture and/or if you haven’t dried it, that could also be the issue (on a Benchy print this is most obvious in pitting/bubbles in the print and excessive stringing). If you have any more issues we can troubleshoot further, hard to be too sure without more info

I will try redownloading and see if that fixes it. I found another file on yeggi of an ear tag and that one printed great. I like the size of this one though so I hope to get it working. I have a P1S. I do not have a filament drier so that could be part of my problem.

Thank yo for your response! So I I downloaded the print again. I remembered later that I had changed it to no infill and a honeycomb pattern. That must have been what goofed it up. I noticed on this ear tag and the one I printed off of yeggi both didn’t join totally solid along the borders. Every other print line it left just a small hole where you can see through. It’s not a big deal but if you try hard enough you can peel the border of the ear tag off. Any thoughts?

Can you make me a ear tag with a logo on it?

Sorry I am just now seeing this… what logo are you thinking? If you are wanting to print it with tpu any logo with fine detail would be tough since you can’t use a 0.2mm nozzle. I’d be willing to take a look if you could reply with a photo of the logo

How stiff is this compared to regular allflex maxi tags? And did you use 95A TPU or TPU for AMS?
