Functional Differential Gear – completely 3D-printable

This differential gear, which I developed, consists exclusively of 3D-printed parts and is fully functional. (Ball bearings should ideally be used)

It can be assembled without additional material – all axles are pressed into the bevel gears and hold stably through frictional engagement. (Adhesive for reinforcement can of course be used)

Two versions of the frame are available:

  • Frame with bearing mount: Enables the use of ball bearings (16 x 5 x 5 mm) for more efficient running.
  • Frame without bearings: With a 0.2 mm tolerance for a snug fit of the axles directly in the printed part.

All components can be printed separately and then assembled without tools. Assembly is somewhat tricky, but should still be manageable.
