Description
This is a customizable sieve model designed in OpenSCAD. The geometry—including diameter, wall angle, and texturing—can be easily adjusted via parameters to suit different needs or preferences. Instead of modeling a mesh or perforated bottom directly, the design relies on infill generated during slicing to create a functional mesh structure. This helps save filament and print time as the slice will generate continuous paths instead of individual perimeters around each hole. However, there is also an option to include holes in the model directly.
Features:
- Fully parametric design with customizable dimensions and optional decorative textures
- Infill-based mesh bottom: Adjust the infill density of the modifier to adjust the mesh size.
- An optional hexagonal hole pattern, if modeled holes are preferred
- Includes chamfered edges and rounded profiles for a smoother appearance
Known Issues:
- The connection between the wall and the mesh can be weak. I tried accounting for it by increasing the infill/wall overlap and modeling the edge of the modifier mesh with a step feature, but it's still not perfect.
