Customizable Parametric Letter + Name Text

This project creates a parametric 3D printed text composed of:

  • a support base letter (extracted as the first letter of the name),
  • and the full name in cursive positioned above it

The design is completely parametric and customizable, intended for decorative applications, gifts, signs, or 3D printing supports

🔧 Customizable Parameters

Within the file, the following parameters can be modified directly in the code:

  • Name – Full name text to display (e.g., "Nicole")
  • font_base – Font used for the support letter (e.g., "STIX Two Math:style=Regular")
  • font_corsivo – Font used for the cursive name (e.g., "Pacifico")
  • height_base – Z thickness of the base letter (default: 25mm)
  • height_name – Z thickness of the cursive name (default: 5mm)
  • letter_size – Visual height of the base letter (default: 150mm)
  • name_size – Visual height of the name (default: 25mm)

📦 Correct Export to 3MF

To export the two parts separately and ensure correct 3D printing:

  1. Export only the base (letter):

    1. Set in the file:
      show_base = true;
      show_name = false;
    2. And export to .3mf. By doing so, you export only the base

  2. Export only the name:

    1. Set in the file:
      show_base = false;
      show_name = true;

    2. Export again to .3mf. By doing so, you export only the name

    ✅ This ensures that the two objects are clean and separate, ready to be printed individually or assembled together

    Once imported into the slicer and printed in your preferred colors, the name will need to be glued onto the base in the desired position
