Fuelblade Ice Scraper - VAG: Skoda, Seat, Audi

Bill of Materials
Description
This is an OEM-style replacement ice-scraper as fits various Volkswagen Group cars (VAG) - Perhaps you didn't get one, yours was lost or broken or you would like a few so the passengers can help too …
Now you can hang with the cool guys using their OEM scraper - But yours will be more colorful ;)
Design considerations
The Fuelblade scraper takes inspiration from the OEM Škoda scraper while modifying the design for improved 3D printability of this clever tool. The original design (appearing under several model numbers 5JJ096010 / 5E0096010 / 000096010E ) was introduced in 2012 as a “clever” feature tucked inside the fuel flap - a small but thoughtful detail from Škoda.
Placement - Designed for convenient storage inside the fuel flap or tailgate (and the tailgate on certain models), ensuring drivers always have a scraper within reach. Its dedicated docking location encourages users to return it after use, reducing the chances of misplacement -though that aspect may not have worked for you :) Alternatively, its compact size (96 mm square and 4 mm thick) makes it just as easy to store in a door pocket, glovebox, handbag, or even a coat pocket. Best of all, you don’t need to own a VW Group car to benefit from it.

The Fuelblade scraper features three distinct edge types, each designed for optimal ice removal. The two square corrugated sides are ideal for tackling thin or stubborn ice, used with the corrugated edge against the windscreen. The single square ‘chisel edge’ ensures a smooth, clean finish or for lifting sheet ice. Finally, the curved chipping edge has a slightly blunter profile, delivering a focused point impact when chipping away ice. The curved design also enhances grip, comfortably fitting into the palm when using the chisel edge on the opposite end.
Printing tips
Large, flat models like this one can warp during printing. To counteract this, my print profile positions it over the right side of the X1C print bed - an area less prone to warping because it’s further from the cooling fan on the left. In your case, be sure to place it where parts are least likely to warp - you likely already have a preferred spot.
If you have issues you can try:
- Add a Brim - Under Process Global > Others > Bed adhesion > Brim type (Outer brim) (Brim width 5 mm)
- Bed Material & Surface Type – The PEI-coated plate generally provides strong adhesion, reducing warping compared to smoother surfaces. The Bambu Lab Cool Super Tack plate is a really good in this regard. Whatever bed you are using give it a thorough scrub in dish-soap, rinse and buff it dry with a clean cloth.
- Bed Temperature & Cooling Settings – Higher bed temperatures (e.g., PLA 65–75°C for first layers) can help prevent warping, especially for materials like ABS. Also the default print process tends to start printing before the set temperature has been reached, one reason to set the initial layer higher and or manually heat it first.
- Disable the auxiliary fan - Some users also further reduce auxiliary fan speed to minimize cooling-induced warping. The normal profile does this, but you can take it further and disable it (for PLA in particular).
- Print speed - Slow down the first layer print speed by 50%. This will promote adhesion.
- Print Orientation & Adhesion Techniques – Using gyroid infill patterns and adjusting first-layer cooling can further reduce warping.
